International Cooperation
The Direzione Centrale per i Servizi Antidroga, recognising the vital importance of international cooperation, maintains and develops its relations with the corresponding foreign law enforcement agencies and the technical bodies of the foreign countries operating in Italy. It participates in meetings with the main drug organisations all over the world. DCSA organises visits for foreign delegations; it promotes, participates and contributes to the elaboration of bilateral and multilateral agreements; it proposes, at an international level, the adoption of new counter-narcotic measures; it promotes, in cooperation with the academic world, scientific research aimed at developing technologically advanced methods in the fight against drug trafficking.
In particular, DCSA takes part in the initiatives developed by the most important international organisations in the fight against drugs, such as those organised by the United Nations (Commission on Narcotic Drugs – CND, Heads of National Law Enforcement Agencies – Honlea), by the European Union (in particular, Horizontal Drug Group, Dublin Group and Europol), and by other International Organisations and/or Regional Platforms, such as the G7 Rome-Lyon Group, M.A.O.C.(N) – Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre (Narcotics), AMERIPOL, CARICC, Paris Pact and IDEC – International Drug Enforcement Conference.
All activities aim at promoting, participating and elaborating bilateral and multilateral agreements with the key players in this area, also through visits of foreign delegations.
